WTBOA Summer Yearling Sale
Guidelines
Yearling is well grown out and
has no significant defects, i.e. back in the knees, severely offset knees,
etc. If you do not know conformation, get professional help in evaluating your
yearling.
Yearling's pedigree appeals to
potential buyers
Sires should have commercial
appeal Sire should either be a popular proven sire with a good yearling
sales average, or if sire is unproven, he should have top racing and pedigree
credentials.
Dams should have commercial
appeal Young mares should either be a stakes performer themselves,
and/or should be a sister (full or half) to stakes performers. Dams with five
or more foals of racing age should have produced stakes performers, or should
have produced runners of reasonable class. Strong supporting female families
are preferred. (Link to
