2004 Winter Mixed Sale Recap
The sale topper at $40,000 was hip #98, a California-bred yearling filly by General Meeting--Secret Advice R.N. that went home with Frank Gaunt of Covington, WA. She was consigned by Dr. Mark Dedominico, a prominent cardiovascular surgeon who operates Woods Creek Training Center in Monroe. Next in line were two yearlings which sold for $30,000 each. First, hip #154, a colt by popular Kentucky sire Smart Strike, sold to Mike Puhich, a local horseman from the days of Longacres who now competes on the California circuit. Shortly afterwards, hip # 177, a yearling filly by Meadowlake, sold for $30,000 to W. Morris Peter of Vancouver, British Columbia. There were a number of quality broodmares on offer and the top seller was hip #210, Miss Pixie, a multiple stakes winner of over $300,000 who sold for $24,000. Miss Pixie was part of the dispersal of J. C. Marshall who died earlier this month. The buyer was top local trainer Howard Belvoir (agent). Total sale receipts of $878,050 was up 20.26% from last year's figures while averages were down in most categories. Click here for COMPLETE RESULTS
